This page is dedicated to Michael's passion, Football (or Soccer to some people), which is like a religion to him having been born in Madrid, Spain, and, more specific, Real Madrid. It cronicles the club's recent successes. Michael is a 3rd generation Real Madrid supporter; as he's said many times, if you cut him he bleeds white.
The club was founded on 6 March 1902 as Madrid Football Club, the club has traditionally worn a white home kit since inception. The word "Real" is Spanish for Royal and was bestowed to the club by King Alfonso XIII in 1920 together with the royal crown in the emblem.
If "Real" wins, Michael is in a very happy mood. But if they lose, don't go anywhere near him for a while! If you work at Castellan Systems, this is an important piece of information. You need to know when best to approach and when not to. But above all, don't mention that other team in the North-East of Spain.
Below you can find a summary of their honours. Beside those trophies Real Madrid were recognised as the FIFA Club of the 20th Century on 11 December 2000 and received the FIFA Centennial Order of Merit on 20 May 2004. The club was also awarded Best European Club of the 20th Century by the IFFHS on 11 May 2010. On 26 May 2018 the team succeeded in becoming the first club to win three back to back Champions Leagues and in December 2018 it succeeded in becoming the first club to win three back to back World Club Championships, extending their lead atop the UEFA club rankings.
We used to keep up here the news of Real Madrid's triumphs, but Michael has now launched a new supporters website, www.blancosdownunder.com for just that purpose. On this page we'll keep a tally of their trophies.
