Castellan Systems

A "constable" was usually the first officer of the crown of many Medieval European kingdoms and was originally responsible for commanding the army. His symbol of office was a longsword held by a hand issuing out of a cloud, a reference to the constable's duty of carrying the king's sword during a coronation ceremony. They were was responsible for the command of the army.

Constable is an application that provides a central dashboard for starting all of Castellan Systems' project/programme applications. It also provides a central point for importing all timesheet data, no matter whether it's for a project, programme or support project. As well, it provides Email and Instant Messaging facilities to keep the whole team in touch.

Obviously, you partner Constable with Condotiero/Almogavar, Monarch, Steward, possibly, and other of our applications to make Constable an useful addition to your toolset.

So what does Constable do?

Constable provides a central point for stating several of our applications. It can open:

• Herald
• Surveyor
• Scribe
• Execution applications:
• Monarch
• Condotiero
• Almogavar
• ClockKeeper
• Artificer
• Soothsayer
• QuarterMaster
• Support applications:
• Steward

You can also select an entry from the pulldown menu provided and Constable will open it using the appropriate application, be it Monarch, Condotiero, Almogavar or Steward.

Constable imports actual labour spent on each task and calculates cost from ClockKeeper no matter whether it's a portfolio, programme, project or support project.

Constable calculates % complete of a task. It uses one of three methods: Milestone based (spec’d, coded, tested, completed), Actual / Estimate or Elapsed time.

Constable provides inbuilt Emailing facilities. Emails can be imported from your Email Server without the need for an Email client like Microsoft Outlook. These Emails can be linked to current open projects, portfolios or programmes (depending on the application) which are then stored within the database along with al of the project data and documents loaded.

Emails can now be printed.

Constable can also send Emails through your Email Server without the need for an Email client like Microsoft Outlook. Constable provides inbuilt Instant Messaging facilities. Conversations can be maintained with other team members. Messages can include attached files. Team members need only have access to the SQL Server instance where the database is held in order to be available for conversation. These conversations are also stored within the database.

Messenger now features a more graphical interface.

We even provide the Messenger as a standalone tool that team members that don't regularly used them, you can load this standalone tool at startup and maintain contact with your teammates.
